This painting is a depiction of the beautiful birch trees growing in the Great Basin National Park in eastern Nevada. The stark white trees with the red and yellow grass in the foreground were begging to be painted. I used mostly watercolor with the trees in India ink and the branches in gouache. I would consider this piece a mixed media piece even though all of the mediums used are water soluble.

This painting measures 10” x 14” and will be sold both unmatted and unframed.

I have been living here in Nevada for almost a year and I am finding that there are some beautiful scenes that would look nice as paintings. So I plan to post more pictures of Nevada scenes. I have been very inspired with the scenery here.
