Camellias are beautiful flowers. But when their petals fall, they die in a matter of hours. I caught these recently fallen petals one day as I was taking my morning walk. I snapped the photo and thought it looked very much like an abstract painting. It was an inspiration to use it as a reference photo for a painting.

This painting reminds me of women who may have "fallen" in their lives, continuing to be beautiful and delicate. To me, this painting represents women who have fallen in their lives but who have picked themselves up and became something more powerful and beautiful than before.
