I had a frame that held three 5" x 7" images. When I looked at the frame, the image of a birdie surrounded by a heart on either side popped into my head. This is the end result.

I used small templates for the figures and made sure each of them was exactly in the center of the paper.

I used watercolor ground, which is a medium mostly used to correct watercolor mistakes. It takes a while to dry. But once dry, it can be painted over. In this case, I used a pearlescent white so the figures shimmer in the light.

Please note that I only use professional grade watercolor paints and paper. This painting is designed to last many years. I hope it brings you and your family years of pleasure.

I found this painting fun and whimsical and I think it would look darling in a baby's or child's room.
