Abstract Snowstorm is a mixed media painting. I used candle wax to create a wax-resist effect, which has created the snow effect. This effect is very successful with watercolors as the water resists the wax creating the illusion of snow.

The scene is fairly simple so that the focus is on the snow effect instead of the landscape.

As I delve further in painting abstracts, I am beginning to explore using other tools instead of just brushes. I painted an entire valentine collection years ago using a wax-resist effect and it proved to be very successful as I sold all 5 pieces.
